AIM Institute

Whether streamlining operations, producing smarter products, or making connections with customers around the world, the ability to apply information technology, coupled with a skilled workforce, is key to helping our citizens and communities thrive in a global economy.

As a not-for-profit membership organization, it is the AIM Institute's mission to transform communities, organizations and individuals through information technology. AIM fulfills its mission by collaborating with business leaders, educators and government to help citizens in Nebraska and the surrounding region to develop the skills needed in an information economy and to prosper through the innovative application of IT.

AIM partners with nonprofit and educational organizations to help them fund, manage and evaluate their programs. We also assist organizations in capacity-building training and funding.

Capacity-Building Grants and Training for Nonprofits – their Compassion Institute of the Midlands (CIM) helps faith-based and community-based nonprofit organizations within a five-county area surrounding Omaha build greater capacity to serve through Compassion Fund grants and training, focused on leadership, fundraising and use of IT tools.

The Compassion Institute of the Midlands (CIM) supports faith-based and community-based nonprofit organizations within a five-county region (Douglas, Sarpy, Saunders, Washington in Nebraska and Pottawattamie in Iowa). The CIM's support includes an array of training workshops and annual grants designed to enhance the capacity of Omaha-Council Bluffs metro nonprofits to achieve greater effectiveness and sustainability in their efforts to serve their constituencies.

Training offered by the CIM addresses leadership development, organizational development, program development, revenue development strategies, and community engagement. In addition to training, the CIM awards $200,000 per year in Compassion Capital Fund sub-awards to area nonprofit agencies selected through a competitive application process. Eligible nonprofit agencies within a five-county region (Douglas, Sarpy, Saunders, Washington in Nebraska and Pottawattamie in Iowa) are invited to apply for the sub-awards.
